AgFeed Industries acquires Chinese premix feed co.

NEW YORK (AP) -- AgFeed Industries Inc., a China-based animal feedmaker and pork producer, said Tuesday it acquired Chinese premixfeed company Hainan Hopejia Feed Co.
Terms were undisclosed. Agfeed said the deal will immediately help2008 earnings.
AgFeed already owns several hog farms in the region. Theacquisition is the company's fifth premix feed manufacturing plantin China.
The acquisition makes AgFeed the largest premix feed producer inHainan and will allow the company to expand hog production in theregion.
