Mitsubishi Plastics introduces super high gas barrier film

Mitsubishi Plastics, Inc. (MPI) launched earlier the super high gasbarrier film X-BARRIER. X-BARRIER is a modified film based onMitsubishi's TECHBARRIER technology that has been used in highperformance food, medical, pharmaceutical and industrial packagingthroughout the world since 1991.

The main advantage of this new product is its water vapor barrier.Some of the X-BARRIERs achieve good water vapor barrier properties.With a water vapor transmission rate of 10-4 g/m2/day, this allowsfor flexible, roll-to-roll production of plastic electronics.

This property has little deterioration even under long-term hightemperature / humidity conditions. In addition to the water vaporbarrier, other gas barrier properties, for hydrogen, oxygen andcarbon dioxide, for instance, are also at a high level.
