FMC spent $390K lobbying in first quarter

WASHINGTON -
Chemicals maker FMC Corp. spent $390,000 lobbying in the first quarter on chemical plantsecurity and other issues, according to a recent disclosure report.
The Philadelphia-based company lobbied on legislation related toplant security against terrorist attack, mining, greenhouse gasemissions, electric utilities, clean coal technology, and roads andhighways.
A major focus for FMC was lithium battery technology and promotingthe use of lithium additives on roads to prevent concrete fromcracking.
Besides Congress, FMC lobbied the Defense Department, AgricultureDepartment and the Environmental Protection Agency, according tothe report filed April 21 with the House clerk's office.
