24 June 2008 - European additive manufacturer ChemsonPolymer-Additive has established a new PVC stabilisers plant inArnoldstein, Austria in response to growing demand forenvironmentally friendly lead-free products.

The Austrian company's new stabiliser unit, with a 10,000tpacapacity, is entirely dedicated to the manufacture of Chemson's“Naftosafe” brand lead-free products, the companystressed.

Arnoldstein-based Chemson is expanding its output in readiness forwhat it expects to be a strengthening market in Europe for itsproducts, boosted by the influence of the European Union's Reachchemical registration initiative.

Chemson Polymer-Additive director, Wilhelm Messner, said: "The pasttwelve months' turnover of our lead free stabilisers has risenconsiderably, and the indications are that this trend will continueand accelerate through the influence and the Reachinitiative.”

The company intends to consolidate and increase its market leadingposition with continued investment plans. Chemson said it isalready a world leader in PVC-stabiliser manufacture. In the year2006/07 it recorded annual sales worth €262m and employs 665worldwide.
