Jotun targets 8% pie of decorative paint mkt

By May 2008, the company will have eight Jotun Multicoulour retailoutlets in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot.
The company recently launched its plant in Pune at an investment ofRs 100 crore. The plant has a capacity to produce up to 50 millionlitres of wet paint and 10,000 tonnes of powder coatings.
The paint sector in Gujarat offers a huge potential. Thedecorative paint market in Gujarat is estimated to be at Rs 300crore annually of which we aim to capture 8 per cent by 2010, saidPercy Jijina, general manager (decorative), Jotun India Pvt Ltd.
The Real estate industry has been the greatest contributor to thedecorative paint industry that has seen a growth of 17 per cent inthe last few years.
By 2010, the Indian paint industry will be about Rs 11,000 croreof which we aim to have a share of Rs 650 crore, said LopeshDalal, marketing manager, Jotun India.
The Jotun group has a presence across 67 countries with over 40manufacturing facilities, which contribute $2 billion to its annualrevenues.
