United Plate Glass begins production at Industrial Park

United Plate Glass, a flat glass fabricator and distributor, heldits grand opening Tuesday at the Lincoln County Industrial Park .
United Plate Glass started fabrication May 1 at the55,000-square-foot facility, Crystal Gettys, existing businessmanager for the Lincoln Economic Development Association, said.
The company, headquartered in Butler , Pa. , is the third manufacturing facility for the Cully family.
My dad [William Cully] was very involved in the glassmakingbusiness for about 52 years, co-owner Mike Cully said. My brother[Burt], wife, Joyce, and myself bought the company in 1981. Werepretty amazed by its continued success.
The family-owned company fabricates glass for both residential andcommercial buildings.
Cully said the company makes several types of products includingspandrel, laminated and bent glass.
Barry Matherly, executive director for LEDA, said addingdiversity to Lincoln County was a goal when building the industrial park.
We really like [United Plate Glass]; its completely different andthere is nothing else like it in the county, he said.
As of now, 15 employees work at the Lincoln County facility.
There is plenty of room for additional office space andexpansion, Matherly said. Over time, the business will be able togrow, invest more in the community and hire more residents.
Cully expects to employ 35 additional employees as the companyexpands.
