BASF increases price for carbonyl chloride derivatives

With immediate effect or as contracts allow, BASF is increasing thesales prices for carbonyl chloride derivatives (CCDs) worldwide by8-15%, and up to 20% in Asia, depending on the specific product.

The price adjustments for CCDs are triggered by continuously highraw materials and energy costs.

The CCD portfolio comprises mainly acid chlorides andchloroformates, which are primarily used to make organic peroxidesfor the production of polymers (PVC).

They are also important as intermediates for pharmaceuticals andagrochemicals. Further applications are cosmetics, soaps anddetergents, mining chemicals, polymer additives and electroplatingchemicals.
