GMG increases its substrate range with matte and gloss

Tuebingen (June 9th, 2008) – GMG, supplier of high-end colormanagement and proofing solutions, has added new media to itsportfolio of substrates for high-quality proofing and will presentthe new papers at Drupa 2008. The new GMG ProofPaper collectioncomprises GMG ProofPaper matte 140 and GMG ProofPaper gloss 250.

All GMG substrates are manufactured to more than meet the stringentdemands on a color-accurate contract proof and have a high papertint accuracy, particularly high ink limits and very good dryingproperties. GMG printer calibrations are optimally adapted to therespective substrate, the inks and the output device – thefundamental prerequisite for remote proofing within a family ofprinters. GMG also guarantees that the properties of thesubstrates are consistent from batch to batch.

Not only do GMG substrates offer high proof repeatability, but theyconform to the specifications of all common standards appropriatefor the individual papers, such as ISO, PSR Gravure (ECI), SWOP ( Web Site Related Articles Google ), GRACoL and 3DAP. A wide variety of roll and sheet sizes areavailable, therefore minimizing waste and maximizing the printformat. The 3” roll core guarantees optimum substrateflatness.

GMG ProofPaper matte 140
GMG ProofPaper matte 140 is a completely new paper and is suitablefor a wide range of applications, with its bright white point withfew optical brighteners. It is therefore an outstanding paper forproducing high-quality matte proofs. It is suited to commercialprinting as profiles are available for the ISO 29, 30 and 32standards. It is a low cost option for gravure printers, as itoffers a low-cost option for high-quality proofs for uncoatedpapers. In the flexo sector, it can be used effectively inconjunction with the structure simulation of GMG FlexoProof tosimulate corrugated board or other cardboard products.

GMG ProofPaper gloss 250
GMG ProofPaper gloss 250 is again a new paper, intended as ahigh-quality proofing paper for simulation on glossy materials,making it highly suitable for contract proofs. It is particularlysuited to proofing high-quality glossy brochures as the visualimpression is closer to the end product. Compared to other glosspapers, GMG ProofPaper gloss 250 has the advantage of its constantpaper tint and the large amount of ink that can be applied to thegloss finish, therefore giving it a very large color space. Anotheradvantage is its matting properties, which means that the point atwhich the color rendition changes from glossy to matte occurs muchlater.
