Momentive-Anabond in pact to develop spur sealant

SPUR Sealant is a hybrid that exhibits properties in terms ofNon-stain, non-bleed, paintable, primerless adhesion, and durable,Momentive Performance Materials Managing Director VP Nalian toldreporters here.
The agreement allows Momentive and Anabond to jointly develop SPURSealants and market them across the country.
"Momentive would market this product in the construction segmentand Anabond will market it in the automotive, electrical andelectronics segment", he said.
Anabond's expertise in the adhesive and sealants area in theautomotive industry, combined with their manufacturing capabilitieswill help develop 'SPUR Sealant' applications,he said.
Anabond Executive Director (R&D) Adhi Narayanan said theproducts will be manufactured at their plants in Chennai andPuducherry.
"The plant situated in Illalur near Chennai holds a capacity of 120tonnes per month and we are hoping to reach the market by October.
Initially, we will be targeting the OEMs to market the product," headded.

During this period, Momentive will provide all necessary technicalinputs and support for any experiments by extending theirapplication development facility in India or overseas.
In addition, they will also assist Anabond in developingformulation and process for the compounding of SPUR Sealants, headded.
