Police nab two trying to spray paint building in Dunellen

Bruce Mason, 19, who lives on Prospect Avenue in Dunellen, and a17-year-old juvenile from Plainfield were caught with assortedcolors of spray paint and were arrested around 1 a.m. Thursday,police said.

They were both charged with several counts of criminal mischief andwere released pending a court appearance. A police investigation bySgt. Jeff Nelson and patrolmen Matt Cangialosi and Brian O'Neillconcluded that the two arrestees were responsible for severalinstances of graffiti in the last 10 days.

Painted tags had popped up in Washington, McCoy, Morecraft andGavornick Parks as well as at Dunellen High School and LincolnMiddle School, police said. The borough's Public Works Departmentis compiling the total cost of cleaning the vandalism.
