Specialists analyzed the urine of about2,500 healthy humans and discovered high concentrations ofBisphenol A with 92 percent test persons. The concentrations weremuch higher than those which cause ailments and pregnancy anomalieswith lab animals.
A report from the National Toxicology Program says that BisphenolA, which has been proved as harmful to animals even in small doses,can be found in almost every human being. Therefore, the chemicalthreatens human embryos, infants and teenagers. Some specialistsassume that the chemical destroys hormones and affects genes at thevery beginning of a human life, programming the development ofbreast or prostate cancer, sexual precocity with girls, attentiondisturbance and other reproductive and neurological disorders.
Specialists of the US National Toxicology Program conducted about500 experiments on rats. The report said that Bisphenol A may causebehavioral and puberty age changes with embryos and babies offemale sex, as well as affect the brain, the prostate gland andmammal glands.
Canadian scientists said that the plastic-containing chemical,which is used in the production of bottles, DVDs and CDs can holdhazard to health. Canadas Health Minister Tony Clement said thatthe chemical most likely jeopardizes the health of children andnewborns.
