MANILA, PhilippinesA friend of mine showed me this idea a coupleof weeks ago. Since I was quite amused by it, I decided to make onefor her. Given the result, I have made one for myself and Im nowin the process of making more for my other friends.
With all these electronic gadgets at hand like cell phones, iPod,Play Station Portable, digital cameras, etc., this is a clever ideato keep chargers organized in one location. The process is quiteeasy and the result is rewarding. Your room becomes clutter-freefrom all chargers and cords. Since you are able to contain them, theres less reason to misplace such important gadgets andchargers.
Materials
1. Two boxes or containers that will enable you to house thechargers you use often; the other is to house the gadgets you willbe charging.
2. Cutter of sharp-edged tool
3. Extension cord with multiple outlets and on/off switch to helpconserve electricity
4. Self-adhesive Velcro strips
5. Cord hooks
6. Glue (optional)
Instructions
1. With the box you will use as base, make sure the extension cordwill fit inside. When positioned, secure with self-adhesive Velcrostrip or glue in place.
2. On one corner, cut a hole big enough to allow the prong end ofthe cord to go through so you can plug it into an electricalsource.
3. On the other corner, cut another hole and after you plug in theadaptors, thread these cords through.
4. Place the second box on top. On the back side of the box, attachcord hooks evenly spaced to allow enough space for your gadgets torest on while being charged.
5. Bore a hole on the back side of the top box, positioning itright on top of the hole on the bottom box to allow you to threadthe charger cords after they are fastened on the cord hooks.
6. When cords and extension cords are in place, put boxes one ontop of the other and your charging station is ready.
7. Option: You can also use just one box bigger in dimension to fitthe extension cord inside together with the gadgets. Organize allthe cords by neatly gathering and binding them with twist ties.
Here, I used two wooden wine boxes. I bore holes through asinstructed and fastened the chargers and extension cords in place. You can paint the surface with any color you desire or cover withfabric or wrapping paper. Anton Barretto
