Officials have identified the three-year-old boy who wasshot in East St. Louis on Thursday afternoon.
Three-year-old Samuel Scott, III was shot while riding in a vanwith his father.
East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks tells News 4 that the Scott'scondition has been upgraded from critical to serious but stable.
The mayor hopes to meet with Scott's family later today.
Police say they already have the shooter in custody, but they arelooking for two others who they say may also have been involved.
Investigators believe the gunman and the boy's father got into anargument over the boy's mother, which led to the shooting.
