16 July, 2008 [ 12:13 ] Hmm. Interesting. I wonder if this Andean-inspired haute couturewill be worn by any of the wealthy women of Lima. What do you allthink?

16 July, 2008 [ 13:30 ] That will happen when pigs begin to talk.
The sole purpose in life for most women in Lima is to look
as European/American as possible and to have the silly brands
to prove it. I know some who rather starve and go without things
they need, just so that they can afford silly pieces of clothes.

16 July, 2008 [ 14:14 ] That's what I was thinking:-) I don't see them putting onQuechua-style hats, ponchos and rucksacks and going out to lunch. God forbid they look remotely Peruvian in an ethnic/indigenoussense.

16 July, 2008 [ 14:42 ] But to be fair, I wouldn't be caught dead in the outfit picturedabove either, whether it has Givenchy on the label or not. The hatis too poufy, the dress too short, and the boots... The whole thing makes me dizzy. And I just don't do stripesanyway. It's a highly stylized interpretation of Andean garb, tosay the least.

17 July, 2008 [ 02:22 ] Ok, can anyone explain to me why it is racist and not acceptablewhen wealthy white skin people belittle more native lookingPeruvians, but NOT racist when it is reverse?
The fact is, there are good and bad people racist and non-racistpeopleof all classes, colors and groups and to stereotype ANY ofthem is wrong, no matter what direction you are going.
