Bandits in gardening glove stick-up

Two armed robbers donned gardening gloves when they held up an EastBrisbane hotel at gunpoint last night, stealing a large sum of cashfrom the safe.
Police say the men entered the Australian National Hotel on StanleyStreet about 11.25pm through the rear door of the gaming area.
The pair threatened the hotel manager and bar staff with a pistoland a knife, demanding they open cash registers and the safe. Themanager complied and the men fled with a large sum of money, policesaid.
Both men were wearing balaclavas, caps, hooded jumpers and whitegardening gloves. It is believed they have olive complexions.
