British luxury brand Liberty of London is to launch their firststand alone flagship store on Sloane Street in London next week.
The 1800sq ft store over 2 floors will provide a stunning showcasefor the leather accessories, scarf, swimwear, jewellery and menscollections, reflecting the brands exotic glamour and decadentopulence. Theres so much attention to detail from the stuccoceilings carved from archive Liberty prints, a 3 metre long scarfbar, a dramatic curtain of transparent acrylic spheres winding upthe staircase and a lot of gold and black gloss.
To create the perfect space, Creative Director Tamara Salman hascollaborated with Paris-based architects Pierre Beucler andJean-Christophe Poggioli of Architects Associe. Beucler andPoggioli first made a name for themselves on the cultural scenecreating exhibitions with the Louvre, The Campana Gallery and theCernushi museum. In addition to their museum projects they have aparticular interest in architectural design in the fashion industryand have set new standards with luxury fashion houses such as Commedes Garcons, Dior Homme and the recently launched Lanvin storesworldwide. Most recently they did a temporary exhibition for Diorin Tokyo.
The two-storey 1,800 sq ft store takes its cue from thearchitecture and heritage of Liberty - exotic glamour and decadentopulence. Stucco ceilings and walls feature elements of floralmouldings taken from inside the Liberty building, interspersed witha swan and stags head. Milk walls and gold arches drift throughblackened oak and high gloss black furniture which in turn aregrounded by a grey stone floor with a hair-line brass inlay of anabstract Ianthe signature print. A dramatic curtain oftransparent acrylic spheres, with Ianthe highlighted in black, follows the line of a curved sweeping black oak staircase leadingto the mens floor on level one.
The new store marks an important step in the brands development asa luxury retailer and will be the blueprint for concept storesthroughout the global market-place. Liberty of London is nowavailable in over 100 retail outlets worldwide including 10 CorsoComo (Milan), Jeffrey (NYC), Le Bon Marche (Paris), Mac (LA), Tsum(Moscow), Villa Moda (Kuwait) and at www.libertyoflondon.com .
