Promote Turkish shoe brands and provide a funartistic event in Istanbul

Larger-than-life shoe sculptures will be displayed aroundIstanbul's most popular streets and shopping malls starting Monday.
Shoe Art 2008, which will run until October 30, features works ofart created with products made by Turkish textile and leatherfirms. A total of 150 giant shoes designed by famous Turkishartists and personalities will decorate bustling areas of Istanbul,spreading art, entertainment and creativity throughout the city.
From cows to shoes
The project aims to promote Turkish shoe brands and provide a funartistic event in Istanbul. The income from the open air exhibitionwill be donated to The Turkish Foundation for Combating SoilErosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitatsand the Turkish Heart Foundation. The shoe sculptures follow in thefootsteps of the giant cow sculptures last year and the speciallydesigned tulip sculptures this spring.
