Govenor Rowell took every detail into consideration when he put together theoutfit he was wearing.
His $300 Curtis Gibson pinstriped suit was from Curtis and MarilynCustom Tailoring and Alterations in Maple Heights. He coordinatedthe suit with a surprising $30 plaid-trimmed dress shirt, matchingtie and $75 leather shoes, purchased at Diamond Men's Wear.
"I have a friend, we call her the Queen,' who says yea or nay to myoutfits," said Rowell, a residential painter. "I respect heropinion."
That said, it does help that she almost always approves of hisstyle. Rowell remembers only one time she didn't.
"Even I have to admit she was right," he said. "I wore a silvervest under a classic suit to a New Year's Eve party. It was overthe top. I've worn the vest since then, with black trousers, shirtand tie. I let it stand on its own. "
Rowell likes not only fashion, but also the deal.
"I shop off-season for the best bargains or right after the bigholidays, Fourth of July, Christmas, then right after storeinventory," he said.
His best bargain? A three-quarter-length Italian leather coat froma now-closed shop. Originally $450, it cost him only $125.
"It's soft, like butter," Rowell said. "It was a hot day in Junewhen I found it. That was when I learned my lesson about findingbargains. Shop off-season, and get a real bargain."
