Was an adult outside at the poolside when this happened? If notcharges should be filed for negligence. This child almost died& God only knows if there will be any permanent damage orhealth problems relating to it. I feel this should be investigatedas to who & how old was the person watching this small in thepool was. It doesn't take much for a child to drown. You hear somany of these horrible stories when summer is here. Children shouldnever be near a pool without an adult. I hope & pray he fullyrecovers from this tragic near drowning.

Other adults present around the pool? Doing what? Should I ventureto guess......sitting around drinking and having their own goodtime? There is no excuse for what happened if other adults werepresent! Bring on the excuses. Poor baby!

Anyone who wasn't there at the time needs to withhold theirjudgments. It only takes a blink for a kid to get in trouble arounda pool. If you weren't there, you don't know what the parents wereor were not doing. You don't know if they were drinking and havinga good time. The only thing you know is what you read in the paper, and it didn't say anything about the parents neglect or thedrinking and partying.

Here you two go again passing that judgement ball back and forth.Have you even read the article?? It clearly states no criminalactivity. And where does drinking come into the picture, or dopeople just build on to the story as time goes. Pray for the childand family and leave it at that.

Well, most of the facts are not yet in on this case, but alreadyour resident judge-and-juries can't wait to assign the blame! Ifthis were the Old West, these two would be at the head of everylynch mob. Who needs an investigation? Who needs a trial? String'em up!

Even though many of the facts are not in yet about this case, ourresident judge-and-juries can't wait to assign blame. If this werethe Old West, they would head up every lynch mob. Who needs atrial? Just string 'em up!

Guess I'm a bad parent. Sitting six feet away from the blow-up poolyesterday watching my kid plus three others while smoking my cigarand enjoying some nector of the gods so the other adults could goeat.

No, you don't sound like a bad parent Dennis. Hey, was that one ofthose strawberry or cherry cigars?
mary parker - 9:37 AM on July 21, 2008
If you blinked Dennis, you're a bad parent. The cigar wasn't bad, especially at that distance, but that blinking can bring you up ona child endangering charge, on comments that is.

Forgot to mention that the pool might have only had about 10 inchesof water. but some of the kids got carried away and took in somewater so I got up, patted them on the back to get the water out oftheir lungs and let them jump back in. Only one person judged meyesterday and since she's about three french fries short of a HappyMeal, I could care less. Nope, no flavored cigars just a straightup maduro. Didn't have any bugs bother me either....
