Burglars hit house for sale in Cooper City

Burglars methodically ransacked and vandalized a home for sale inCooper City.
A real estate agent told sheriff's deputies she arrived at the homein the 4800 block of Citrus Way about 3:30 p.m. June 21 because shehad scheduled a walk-through with a potential buyer an hour later.
She said the first thing she noticed when she entered the home wasthe open rear sliding glass door.
She then heard the water running in the master bathroom, where ashower head and a roll of wallpaper border were missing. Water wasstill running in the tub.
She shut off the water and was leaving the bathroom when shenoticed the 50-inch plasma TV was no longer hanging from theceiling in the master bedroom.
At that point, she called the Broward Sheriff's Office and thehomeowner.
The homeowner said six surround-sound speakers also were missingfrom the master bedroom and four receivers in the dining room forthe DVD players were gone.
In the kitchen, a faucet was damaged in an unsuccessful effort torip it out.
A security camera facing the front door was taken, along with onein the garage that faced the driveway.
In the garage, 75 antique plates were missing and a sandal had beenplaced under the garage door to keep it from closing.
A screen had been pushed in and the window was open in thechildren's bedroom. The cherry wood molding had been removed fromthe wall and the intercom system had been damaged.
The cost of the stolen items and the damage to the house wereestimated at a total of $1,870.
At 4:30 p.m., as scheduled, the real estate agent conducted awalk-through of the burglarized home.
