Scarpaletto Shoes Inc. plans to move into new space at downtown Denver’s LarimerSquare in mid-August.
The shoe store, which has vacated its space in the Cherry CreekShopping Center, leased 1,608 square feet of space at 1436 LarimerSt., according to Antonoff & Co. Brokerage Inc., whichrepresented the store in the deal.
The new location has almost twice as much space asScarpaletto’s Cherry Creek mall store, according to storeowner Philip Vivinetto.
“At the new store, we’re going into ladies’apparel, footwear and handbags,” Vivinetto said.
The store previously specialized in men’s shoes —including brands such as Banfi, Ferragamo and Lorenzo — aswell as men’s clothing and accessories. Scarpaletto roughlymeans “fits like a glove.”
• Elsewhere downtown, BW Sports Inc. has leased 1,500 squarefeet in the University Building at 910 16th St. along the 16thStreet Mall, according to Antonoff & Co.
BW owns the Sportsfan chain of stores.
The century-old University Building long was known as the closestthing Denver had to a New York diamond district because of all thejewelry stores located there. The building still has severaljewelry stores, but some — including Kortz Jewelry Co. andMayer Jewelers — have closed there in recent years.
