A 'large sum of cash' was stolen when thieves made off with asafety deposit box from Boots in Vicarage Fields, Hailsham.

Both police and Boots are remaining tight-lipped about whathappened and how much was taken.

Police would only say that at least two people were involved andused a ladder to get onto the roof of the building, before cuttingtheir way in.

A statement also said the raiders must have made a 'great deal ofnoise'.

Neither the police nor Boots would say much money was in the safebut a police statement confirmed it was 'large sum of cash'.
