Liberty launches fashionable footwear for masses

Mumbai, Mar 28, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- -- Liberty, one of the country's largest footwear manufacturers, today introduced a range of fashionable footwear at low price points, targeting the mass customer base.

"In India, there are many footwear available which are latest and fashionable but they are very costly. The cost of these trendy footwear prevents common people from buying them. Our new products will help common people to buy trendy and fashionable footwear at an affordable price," Liberty Shoes Ltd's Director Anupam Bansal told reporters here.

Besides, its products would help the organised footwear sector to capture customers from unorganised sector which currently has a marketshare of 85 per cent in the country, he said.

Liberty has focused on four of its price sensitive brands -- Fortune, Tiptopp, Gliders and Force10 -- for launching its low-price products.

The entry point in the Fortune brand is Rs 699, for Tiptopp Rs 499, for GLiders Rs 250 and Force10 at Rs 250.
