Jungle animals invade elementary school

The animals were out in the masses at Yeager Elementary first–grade’s “Jungle Party.”
Students were asked to create jungle costumes at home for theirschool musical. Children dressed in every kind of costume fromexplorers to lions.
“The first grade program was absolutely precious, said SharonBarnes, Yeager Elementary School principal. “The childrenwere animated and the kids really got into the musicalstoryline.”
Students told a collective story of the jungle inhabitants whileentertaining an audience of friends and family members. Each of themusical numbers was cleverly choreographed and students wereanxious to show the audience their moves.
Nearing the end of the performance guests were asked to join in andsing along. He voices of parents echoed through the cafeterialouder than the students. It was truly a night of family.
“Parents, too, were snapping their fingers and singing alonghaving a great time,” said Barnes.
Yeager’s music teacher, Lisa Trewin, devotes time and energyinto the elementary students and each individual grade levelproduction along with the help of the physical education staff.
“Ms. Trewin teaches children so much about music and aboutthe joy of performing in front of an audience, Barnes said.“The fact that over 350 people attended the musical allowingfor standing room only says it all.”
