A malfunctioning fire extinguishing system turned a steaming WestRoxbury gas station into a virtual winter wonderland yesterday whena snowlike white powder blanketed the pumping area, sending sixpeople to the hospital.
At least six cars parked at Kings Petroleum on the Dedham/WestRoxbury line were covered in white yesterday afternoon after thepumping station fire extinguishing system was triggered. The powderis used to put out fires.
