Never having used Scorpion products before, I really didn't knowwhat to expect from the Women's Nip Tuck Jacket . I immediately liked the styling, there's no doubt this jacket isvery attractive. The graphics on the arms and down the back are eyecatching without being obnoxious, and the embroidery on the elbowsadds a nice touch. This jacket has a feminine look to it withoutbeing overly 'girly'. I especially appreciate this since so manymanufacturers try for this look, but few really succeed.
The Nip Tuck Jacket was obviously designed with the female frame inmind. Generally I am forced to wear jackets that are quite loosearound the waist in order to compensate for the 'girls' up top. This can lead to some very annoying flapping at higher speeds. Notso here, thanks to the adjustable elastic cords that run along eachside and provide for a custom fit. Any woman with curves willreally appreciate this feature. And while it is very well fitted, the jacket is surprisingly flexible. Even on long rides I nevernoticed any bunching or riding up.
When I first got my hands on this jacket the weather was stillquite nippy here in Southern Oregon. With a warm shirt onunderneath, the Nip Tuck keeps you plenty warm. It wouldn't be myfirst choice if it was really cold though. I've been anxiouslywaiting for the days to turn warm enough to take out the 'Airguardwind liner' and see how the jacket works in hot weather. I wasn'tdisappointed. The air flow through the nylon mesh panels on thechest, inner arms, and back is significant; cooling you down evenin mid-afternoon sunshine. This is where the Nip Tick reallyshines.
To keep you protected if the worst happens, there is Exo-Tec armorin the elbows and shoulders - a strong yet pliable form ofprotection. The fabric non-mesh areas of the jacket are made of aballistic nylon, so you can feel safe even while staying cool.
With an MSRP of only $149.95, this jacket is a real deal. Manycomparable jackets can run significantly higher in price. And ifyou are like me, even though safety is always important, cost isalso a significant factor. I like it so much though, that for theprice I'm considering getting it in another color (but how's a girlto choose?).
