Elderly woman in Grangeville raped

GRANGEVILLE, Idaho (AP) - Authorities in northcentral Idaho arewarning residents to lock their doors after a 72-year-oldGrangeville woman was beaten and raped over the weekend.
The woman is in satisfactory condition at a local hospital.
Grangeville City Police Chief Wayne Sedam said his department isstill searching for a man who is believed to be about 6 feet tall.
The woman told police he was clean shaven, with short,crewcut-style hair, and was wearing jeans and possibly a gray shirtat the time of the attack.
Sedam says the man likely had blood on his face and clothing afterthe attack and hopes somebody recognized him.
The woman's physical injuries aren't life threatening.
