None of you who responded to my poll wants to lose the comic stripFor Better or for Worse.

Most of you, however, expressed moderate to overwhelming approvalfor adding The Argyle Sweater.

And Lio is safe for now, even though most of you dislike the littlerascal.

So, heres the deal:

We are going to do a two-week test. Stickelers comes out and TheArgyle Sweater goes in its place, at least temporarily.

The surest way to get readers attention is to take out a comic andwait for the reaction. That means Stickelers fans must rally ifthey want it returned.

I didnt ask for permission to print and attribute your comments,so I wont use names. I am using some because they reflect thesentiments of people who responded: Im not exactly overwhelmed by The Argyle Sweater, but anythingsbetter than Lio, and Mutts still hasnt earned my support.Stickelers hasnt made enough of an impression. The Argyle Sweater appears to be a good comic. It reminds me ofGary Larsons The Far Side in its humor. Love it! Love it! Love it! Replace Lio with The Argyle Sweater,please, please, please. Lio is just silly, silly, silly. Please do not get rid of For Better or Worse. This is one of thebetter strips because it deals with situations of life that a lotof people see every day. April was born the same month and year asmy grandson. I see so many of the same things teenagers go throughin the strip even though they are not of the same sex. Also, theproblem they are having with elderly parents and jobs, careerchoices, and marriage is everyday life and can help real-lifepeople maybe find solutions. Please dont consider yanking For Better or For Worse. LynnJohnston, her characters and I are growing old together. Id missthem mightily. Send Stickelers on its way and replace it with The Argyle Sweater. The Argyle Sweater comics are terrific. They would be a goodaddition to the paper.
