A TRIP TO A VINTAGE EMPORIUM WITH pop star Kate Nash is like takinga sugar-addicted child to a sweetie shop. Her eyes go wide as shelooks around Starry, Starry Night, tucked down a cobbled lane inGlasgow's West End. And soon she's not just looking. Dresses areheld up to check for size, a hat, then another, then another isplonked on her head, a scarf draped around her neck. Next up it's apair of blue glittery platform boots last seen on a GlaswegianNoddy Holder lookalike circa 1976, long before 20-year old Nash wasaround. She parades up and down the shop in the boots that areobviously far too big for her. Norman, who's serving behind thecounter, has a look on his face that's halfway between bemusementand mild terror. "I think I might buy them," she says in her Londondrawl. "I can do the ironing in them."
