Bangladesh Rifles, in separate drives, seized 76 bales of Indiansaree worth Tk 1.5 crore in Comilla and Brahmanbaria yesterday.

Sources said BDR personnel of 33 Battalion stopped a Dhaka-boundcovered-van at Padua Bazar bypass on Dhaka-Chittagong highway inComilla at about 7:00am and seized 40 bales of saree smuggled fromIndia.

The BDR jawans of the same battalion, in a separate raid, seized 36bales of Indian saree from a boat in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbariadistrict.
