Two men robbed a clerk at gunpoint Friday at the Best Value Innnear Interstate 65, authorities said.

The men walked into the hotel about 10:30 p.m., one of them armedwith a silver handgun, and demanded the attendant hand over moneyfrom the cash register, according to Mobile police spokeswomanNancy Johnson. The men then fled with an undisclosed amount ofmoney.

The gunman was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 200pounds. He had a dark complexion and was wearing dark pants and awhite T-shirt over a long sleeve white shirt.

The other man was described as a 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing145 pounds. He had a medium complexion and was wearing long darkshorts and a white short sleeve shirt. Both men were black.

Man shot in Alabama Village

A man was shot Saturday afternoon in Alabama Village, police said.

Emergency workers found the victim, whose name was not released,suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 900 block of DeKalbStreet, police spokeswoman Nona Simmons said.

He was taken to the University of South Alabama Medical Center.Simmons said she did not know his condition.

Police arrested 20-year-old Carlos Catlin on a charge offirst-degree assault, and he was being held Saturday night atMobile County Metro Jail on $8,000 bail, according to records.

Chad Singleton, 18, was arrested on charges of recklessendangerment and not having a pistol permit. He was being held atthe jail on $1,000 bail.

The three men know each other, Simmons said.
