"Despite heavy rain and trudging through mud all weekend courtesyof the great British weather, Beautiful Days 2008 was a massivesuccess.

"A whole host of bands, established and up-and-coming all workedhard to put on a show that made the 28,000-strong crowd forgetabout the rain and mud and have a great time.

"The Beetroot Kings were entered onto the Bimble Inn line-up just acouple of weeks prior to the opening of the festival followingtheir successful opening slot at home festival Splendour.

"Despite the short notice, the band pulled out all the stops andblasted out a rapturous set that got the packed Bimble Inn crowd ofaround 2,000 bouncing along and mashing up the mud.

"The songs 'The Soup Kitchen' and 'The Story of Shriggy' definitelyproved crowd pleasers as everyone joined together to sing thechorus back to the band, a massive high for the guys.

"The band were up against competition from long time Beautiful Daysfavourites Flogging Molly, whose set was taking place on the Mainstage at the same time as The Beetroot Kings' set.

"However, this did not sway hardened fans and new listeners fromall pouring in to The Bimble Inn to watch the guys play an amazinglive set.

"The band members were also pleased to see a few locals in thecrowd who gave a keen chant for an encore of the song Davy Jones, asong with strong local meaning.

"In my opinion, the band's performance has more than proved themworthy of a slot in the much coveted Big Top stage and even Mainstage for Beautiful Days 2009.

"It seems success for the band is coming thick and fast and thereare no signs of things slowing down with their winter tourcurrently being finalised ready for promotion, a Christmas singlerelease in the pipeline and discussions already in place for majorline up slots for the 2009 festival season."
