Led by Celebrity Chef Makoto Okuwa , Sashi will bring traditional Japanese cuisine with a creativeflair together with an alluring atmosphere, providing a superiordining experience for even the most refined of guests. Imaginativefood and careful attention to detail is what Sashi promises todeliver. Along with extraordinary hand-picked ingredients,first-class service and signature dishes created by aworld-renowned chef, theManhattan Beach dining experience willnever be the same.
 
"I wanted to bring something special to this amazing area. I findthat locals here have a very sophisticated palate and wanted togive them something unique," states Sashi owner and Head Chef, Makoto Okuwa . "My menu was inspired by what I knew locals would want and moreimportantly, appreciate. Having worked with the finest chefs in theworld, bringing over 17 years of experience to this cuisine, I havecreated a unique menu that is both elegant and bold."
 
Best known for his appearances on "Iron Chef," having studied underthe tutelage of renowned culinary expert, Morimoto, Chef Makoto'sEast Coast Japanese training allows him to produce creative dishesthe West Coast has yet to see. The mouth-watering menu prepared byChef Makoto will consist of many signature dishes including:
 
-- Tuna! Tuna! Tuna! -- This fresh and succulent sashimi trio ofBlue Fin, Toro, and Albacore Tuna is as pleasing to the palate asit is to the eyes. Each square piece, served on a bamboo skewer, isside coated with grinded sesame seeds and topped with saltedseaweed kelp and a drop of fresh wasabi. The taste buds are furtherawakened with a fiery side of wasabi avocado dipping sauce.
 
-- Jidori Chicken Cigars -- Chef Makoto's "special treat" forchicken lovers, this organic, free-range Jidori Chicken dish iscomprised of ground poultry rolled into Japanese Rice Paper. Servedwith a side dipping sauce of wasabi BBQ; the perfect complement tothe Japanese-bred chicken's natural flavor. Accented with a micromixed green salad including shiso and wasabi. True to its name, thedish is presented in a classic cigar box.
