Bastille Day is the French national holiday celebrated annually onthe 14th July in commemoration of the storming of the Bastille in 1789. The event is steeped in history and has become firmlyestablished as the definitive symbol of French nationhood. All arewelcome to join in the celebrations, marking a 219th anniversary in 2008.
