My pal Percy Sheffield took me to Chester last week to eat at 5Guys restaurant. It was wonderful, my first time, but I tell you,you can’t beat it. Percy’s son, Ryan, works there and sodoes my good friend, Louis Dowdy. We were treated royally and Ihope we can go back soon. Coming back from Chester we stopped atthe big vegetable stand and saw my dear friend Jamie, who I had notseen in sometime. Jamie had beautiful vegetables and plenty ofcustomers too. Jamie is such a great person. She and her familyhave made many a stop at Olgers store over the years. Jamie is aworld champion strawberry picker. She’s out at the crack ofday and back to her vegetable stand to sell her wares. Yes, Jamie,it was great to see your it brought about a lot of memories atOlgers store.
Many thanks to a Church Road lady who brought me two World War IIhelmets and a hat for the museum. I certainly do appreciate it andI have them on display for all to see. Folks are so good to me.Then my friend Millie Ayala, and her son, William, brought a KoreanWar helmet to the museum that belonged to her late husband, Jose. What makes it so unique is the helmet is autographed by many of herlate husband’s friends. I do appreciate the helmet, Millie, and I will cherish it in the museum for years to come.
Many thanks to William Ayala, who came by to help me at the cabinlast week. He did a great job and I told William, joking of course, that with his legs and my brains we could sure get some work done,You sure can’t beat youth. I had a nice supper for Millie andWilliam, and strawberry shortcake for dessert and did they enjoytheir meal.
Many thanks to Pee Wee Wawner, who brought me a nice load ofkindling wood. Believe me, it will be put to good use. Pee Wee surelooks out for me. My pal Robbie Bishop brought me two nice loads oflogs last week. I am hoping to build up enough wood to run methrough the winter. You can never tell, it could be a cold winter.
