The produce information provided by the Dallas Farmers Market canbe applied to most nearby farmers markets. Some, such as Coppell,Frisco and McKinney, also offer pastured meats, chicken and eggs.Coppell has gulf and Alaskan seafood supplied directly fromfishermen, and Fred's Alaska salmon is sold at Frisco.

DALLAS FARMERS MARKET HIGHLIGHTS: Shed No. 1 houses local growers with tomatoes (regular, green,Super Sweet 100, cherry and grape), peaches, blackberries,blueberries, red plums, okra, bell peppers, green beans, squash(patty pan, eight-ball, zucchini and yellow), onions, new potatoes,peas (cream, purple hull and black-eyes), herb plants andfood-bearing plants, and local honey. Super Sweet bicolor corn isavailable on Saturdays. Farm merchants have fresh peas (purplehull, cream and black-eyes) and cantaloupes from South Texas.

Look for organics at the Farmer-Rancher Network or Dis & DatOrganic Farm, including beef, blackberries, tomatoes, squash,onions, dill and cilantro, eggs from pastured hens, Porgo(pork-goat sausage), rabbit and pastured chicken. Saturday andSunday, Fred's Alaska Seafood.

Shed No. 2 is still home to Texas Meats (pastured meats, eggs and cheese) andMawker Coffee. Texas Meats is tucked into a corner while itspermanent space is being completed.
