The price of petroleum also risesrapidly in this year. Some Asian countries including India andVietnam, recently hovering rice exports to guarantee their ownsupplies. In the case of Pakistan, when an environment alreadywidespread with political uncertainty and extremist threats thefood crisis comes along with an energy crisis. Food and energyshortages have become worse this summer.

The companionship of foodshortage and long periods of energy crisis is a dangerous mixture. It also creates troubles for those who currently gripped inpolitical system might soon find that their best laid politicalplans would come to zero if these basic needs remain same. RecentlyUnited Nations World Food Program (WFP) has predicted that Pakistanis in the grave danger of becoming an acutely food insecure countryin the very near future and according to other sources it isexpected that food riots would break in the streets. According tothe WFP stats, 38 per cent of Pakistanis are food insecure, andthat basically means that they are not able to afford poverty lineintake of 2,350 kcal per day. Because the increase in food items orwheat prices is far above to the increase in wage rate that¢s why60 million food insecure peoples are present in the country.
