DIM sum is simply irresistible, isn't it? The sight of each hand-moulded petite dumpling puts our taste buds into an anticipatory mode to welcome the combination of flavours in our mouth.

The food, consumed at breakfast or lunch, is a favourite among the Chinese community.

And, restaurants serving dim sum usually attract quite a crowd With this in mind, Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant has followed its counterparts in the city in offering sumptuous dim sum fare for lunch.

The difference, however, is in the price as the Dim Sum Galore – Emperor and Empress sets are each priced at RM38++ per person.

While you whet your appetite on a variety of popular steamed and baked/fried items, the chefs have also included hot-from-the-pot Steamed Seafood Dumpling with Superior Stock and Shark's Fin Soup, fragrantly tasty Water Prawn Noodles and two super desserts.

But, back to the main staple of the menu – dim sum.

Indulging in Zuan Yuan's dim sum fare is like being in dumpling wonderland as one can order an unlimited amount of steamed and baked/fried dim sum. There is no restriction, either, on how much Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun you can to have.

Of course, there is a catch. Diners are limited to a bowl of soup and one serving of Water Prawn Noodles.

After indulging in the splendid soup, the dim sum baskets roll out, starting with the steamed fare.

Among the steamed items are the translucent Steamed Prawn Dumpling, ever-favourite Zuan Yuan Style Steamed Siew Mai with Flying Fish Roe, yummy Shark's Fin Dumpling and Steamed Teo Chew Sui Mai.

When you have had enough of the steamed morsels, get ready for the crispy baked and crunchy fried fare.

The baked/fried dim sum serving offers a taste of sweet and savoury that is definitely hard to resist.

Each plate of the baked/fried variety is dressed up handsomely, with chefs emphasising the finishing touches to please the senses.
