Harrods plans instant pasta promotion

Upscale British retailer Harrods has announced plans to market a special line of the popular Pot Noodles instant pasta products.

The store said 100 of the "collectors' item" noodle packages will be sold at the London store in special green and gold jars to match the store's livery, the Daily Record, a Glasgow, Scotland, newspaper, reported Monday.

The $60 noodles only come in one flavor, "poulet and champignon" -- chicken and mushroom.

"We do not normally stock the product as a rule," Harrods spokesman Andre Dang told the Daily Record. He said the promotion won't stop with Pot Noodles: "We are also doing limited editions of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Sauce and Heinz tomato ketchup."
