Huntsman Advanced Materials is a leading global manufacturer and marketer of advanced epoxy adhesives, rapid tooling materials and structural composites. At JEC 2008 on 1st-3rd April in Paris, on Stand G63, Hall 1.2, the company will be showing its latest product and technology innovations, providing cost effective and production-efficient end user solutions for the world’s major manufacturing industries.

Expected to be a major attraction at JEC, the Huntsman stand will feature a stunning prototype racecar from the ORECA team. This is the forerunner to the car currently under development in a new three year partnership between Huntsman and ORECA that will involve the use of some specially formulated Huntsman materials and technological support from the company’s highly experienced R&D team.

Hugues de Chaunac, founder and Chairman of ORECA, will be leading a special presentation together with the Huntsman team on this unique partnership and giving details on the car development programme at JEC on Wednesday 2nd April at the VIP Lounge.

Marine Forum Presentation

Huntsman will be focusing on the benefits to the marine industry of the revolutionary new variable rheology Seamless Modelling Paste (SMP) RenPaste 4666 in a presentation with El-Bo Produktion, Denmark’s leading composite mould and industrial model manufacturers.

The product presentation will be made at 10.30 am, Tuesday 1st April 2008 as part of the JEC End-users forum programme by Duncan Howland, Marine Technical Support Engineer at Huntsman. This will be followed by a customer testimonial on using RenPaste 4666 for the production of a concept scale model of a new 12 m sailing boat by Jorgen Bo Poulsen, owner of El-Bo Produktion.

Latest Materials & Technology Innovations

At JEC 2008, some of the latest materials and production technology innovations in the rapid tooling, adhesives and structural composites ranges will be on display. Highlights include:

Aerospace Applications:

Tooling infusion systems for the manufacturing of large scale high temperature moulds utilising Araldite LY 8615 / Aradur 8615 / Aradur 5212; high temperature tooling solutions for aerospace applications including epoxy boards and laminating systems; high performance, bromine-free, flame retardant Araldite adhesives and Epocast syntactics for aerospace applications including Araldite 1570 FST A/B and Araldite 1614-A1.

Huntsman will also be demonstrating Araldite MY 0600, a multi-functional epoxy resin based on meta-aminophenol. Compared to the properties of many multi-functional epoxy resins, this material is unique in its ability to provide structural matrices with higher modulus and greater toughness, making it ideally suited to aerospace applications.
